Warriors have a shield, HP-boosting skills and so on, yes they are better for DoA.
Dervish is the king of the FoW though

In all my DoA runs I have never seen a dervish in my party... So I guess they are shunned indeed ^^

Scythe dervishes, maybe.
 I refuse to think that any class would be worthless in any zone. I'm pulling through as many characters as I can to DoA to work with builds/ideas. <~~~ King of miserable failures.
